5.4 update issues/bugs
The Good
I like the improved graphics.
Finding recipes is nice
I like the improved bandit camp battle map - tents are a nice touch
I like the new enchanter - if for no other reason than it gives something else to do with crystal - the unit itself is a little lackluster
I noticed a number of other subtle changes and not so subtle changes - the opening voiceover - which add polish to the game
I like the fact that the monsters don't auto-home-in on scouts
The Bad
INSANE FACTION CONVERSION - brought this to your attention before and it's STILL an issue. On beginner, by time I find the factions, unless they spawn right next to me, they convert to SK before I get the first quest complete, let alone get a second quest. This is CRAZY... just make them at war from the start if this is how it's supposed to be. And that's on BEGINNER... so either you aren't serious about the factions yet or it's a bug.
Serrated Longsword gives +5 dodge. Either rename it to the Dancing Longsword or give it some sort of damage bonus... No one believes the SERRATED longsword gives a dodge bonus - especially with the nasty, blood-covered graphic and the description of it tearing flesh and bone. You TOTALLY flubbed on that one.
Give the weapons another once over. I haven't found any end game weapons so far. They seem OK for mid-game, tho now are lackluster. +/- 2 in damage and really nothing else to write home about. Not sure what you want from the weapons but they are now all "bleh". Give them some personality. Serrated should do extra damage or extra crit... NOT dodge bonus. Plus, given what you need to make it, it's a huge disappointment - 3 flawless platinums and 2 ogre bloods - for 2 more damage and no crit over the shadow broadsword?
The Ugly
Same bug with enemy units not observing the rules - the wizard can still cast call lightning without moving, the dragon can still pounce without moving, bandit archers can do flaming arrow at a distance instead of it being 1 square, spiders can devour at distance unlike the spider you summon, where it has a 1 tile radius, etc.
Unlimited maul for panthers - they just keep hitting... 10-12 times... at -15% each time, that's hitting at a MINIMUM of -180% if they start with 100%... less if they have a small starting percentage.
Loaded a game with the Mobilization Ability and the free barracks disappeared.
