I feel that there are still many small actions that could be streamlined and over the period of full game would reduce micromanagement and annoyance greatly:
1.Switch between planets in planet view with left-right mouse button.
Simple stuff, standard in every strategy game with city management and therefore familiar to the player.
2.When merging fleets, keep the name of the bigger fleet.
I like to personalize the names of my fleets, I should not need to name my "Grand Fleet of Altarian Genocide" every time I try to replenish it with a single small ship.
3.Lower the intensity of ZoC hex field and nebulae.
On a larger map you spend most of your time zoomed out in the strategic view, ships, planets and starbases do not stand out under the hexes and background nebulae. (Especially planets could have somewhat larger icon)
4.Option to have Govern Planet menu in the Planet menu instead of the spinning planet thing.
Every time I check on a planet I always, without a fault bring up the govern tab, it can fit on the Planet menu and it should be, such essential information should not be hidden.
5.Ability to place notes on sectors.
Would help with remembering to do stuff, locations.
6.Toggle button to see all ship movement paths.
Would speed up logistics so you do not have to recheck every fleets movement path individually.
7.Starbase placement order that would show the bases range and titles where you can not place one (maybe show placement suggestions).
Similar to how civ does city placement, would make starbases fun to use, instead of making you count out tiles every time you want to place a mining starbase or waste turn maneuvering your constructor until you can actually put it down.
Comment here what else do you think could be made more intuitive/streamlined.
