At the moment the only thing what the A.I. does either beg for stuff or try to coerce you to do something. Most of the time it is the first interaction I get with them. Why are they even talking to me? And what is almost worse is that they never follow through and that they often don't even have the means to do so. In my last game I had 7000 FP and a 200 FP race tells me I have a puny empire and should give them something? What kind of bad joke is this?
They are just trying to piss you off. Ignore them.
Why are some/(all)? diplomacy actions linked to pretty far research project? 350 turns in I cannot form Alliances with most of the races? Yes I can always gift them the tech but that is not the point. I want alliances and other stuff early on not wait till the game is almost over. Instead of making it a mandatory research make it so that it makes alliances easier or benefits in other ways.
Unless you are playing with very slow tech, you should have all the diplomacy techs by turn 350.
So far the only usage for speaking with other races is early game to trade your stuff for money which the A.I. needs way more because it's addicted to rush all their stuff and get bankrupt. Or even cheesier where you trade your technologies and always have the highest techs avaible.
Pretty much, I get what I can out of them. They are better now at saving some BC and sometimes they will have a huge amount of BC.
Why do you always have access to all the information about everything about that race? It should greatly limit what I can see. Especially in the techs. There needs to be some kind of spionage where I have to reveal what they have or only in Alliances I get to see some of it.
Well, since there is no espionage, that the only way to have the info. If you turn off tech trading the tech might not show. I have never tried that. I understand they will add espionage later. They are talking about collapsing all the trade categories by default so you can not peek if you wish.
