Just learned of this game last night and that my computer isn't good enough, so I've been working out what to do to upgrade,but to determine if it's worth it I have a few questions.

Years ago I used to play Space Empires, until the players dried up. I am eager to get back to running my own empires again, but I'd like to know will multiplayer races be turn based where everyone does their turn and then sends them in to have the next turn generated before people download the next turn, perhaps a turn a day, or do players all play together turn after turn ? I would think one or two turns a day would be more convenient. Also, has the community got plans for a web site where you can find games to join and which gathers and generates turns? and where you can download mods and organise games with mods? Finally, if you make your own race is there a way of including your own race portrait for others to see, or do you need to use one of the already existing models? I found the article on custom races.
