0.82 - observations

Dear Stardock, thanks for this latest Beta patch. Here are my observations from playing for about 3 hours:

- Save/load bug still exists (this must be fixed!)

- Text-clipping still exists

- Don't see the 50 new initial responses to my diplomacy - same "glad to see the Terrans walking upright" still there always

- Tourism income too high - makes trading virtually worthless

- Too easy to keep population 100% happy - just build a Missionary Centre on every planet (normal difficulty)

Which save/load bug are you referring to?

Hi Brad, it's this:

Quite often after I save a game and then want to load it again later, the saved file is prefixed with a tilde and when I try to load it I get the message "This save is not compatible with this version of the game".

At the moment, I have to turn on Autosave for every turn because my named saved games are so unreliable.

I also saw the tilde thing appear in the load option. What's the idea of that?

I've saved under the name Game1 or Game2 and when I check load. I see ~Game1 and Game1 still the old save file... Is it supposed to work as a measure against accidentally overwriting something?
