Just completed my first 2 games (beta 4.2), and am having a great time. That being said, there have been a few immersion breaking moments (which I assume aren't bugs). In the spirit of giving feedback, I thought I'd share and see what you guys think.
Events
1. Almost every act of colonization triggers an event related to lifeforms. It certainly adds flavour, but it does seem odd that virtually every habitable planet has some kind of life form on it. I miss the variety of events from GC2 (vaults of weapons, etc.).
2. The type of events triggered on planets and in space are too categorical. Everything in space is about money/science, everything on planets is about planetary effects. It'd be nice to mix things up a bit, and also add more variety. E.g. cash/science caches on planets, devices in space that effect their nearest planets, unique ship parts, etc.
3. Some events should not trigger in the Sol system. The first time I colonized Mars, I found a swarm of fishes... Given our current scientific understanding of Mars, that seems highly unlikely, even in a sci-fi setting. Enceladus, maybe, but not Mars.
4. The Beacon trait needs tweaking. A class 16 planet should definitely not appear suddenly in your home system.
Others
1. We need more ways to gain ideology points, perhaps linked to our diplomatic actions? It feels odd to gain 20 benevolence by sparing some creatures on a single planet, whilst gaining no malevolence when I annihilate a peaceful galactic species.
2. Thuliam is confusing. Took me awhile to figure out why there are so many planets named Thuliam.
3. I assume the Arbitration Center gives ideology points like the Temple of Enlightenment and Citadel of Revenue, but this isn't clear from the tooltip.
