Beta 4 first play, Tinker, med map normal everything.
First , I have seen several comments about beta 4 being much (too) harder. I did win my first play but would have had lost had it not been for reloading several times. I did have many high level groups coming after me from the start. Some nerfing is definitely needed in early game but I thought it was ok later on. Had one CTD first in 200 hours.. not bad!
Sovereign and hero level ups took MUCH longer than in previous games, may be a tinker problem but it was too slow.
Great game & getting better and better
Bugs: (some prob known but listed anyway)
1) Quest report still blank.
2) Enchanting some items (eg. Drogon’s axe) resulted in picture icon going away.
3) Turns to build something was not always right. E.g. When selecting a bldg. it showed it would take 2 turns and it actually took 4.
4) Displayed cursor is still screwed up sometimes.
5) My starting city did not get the tile bonus. I.e. it was on a 4 essence tile but my city had only one.
6) Drogon seems OP. I was constantly dealing 100+ HP hits with normal attacks, even more when hits were critical.
7) Tried “enhance Land” on a grassland tile, told me I cannot use it on a hill. A) I saw no sign of a hill (rendering prob?) and
Why can’t I use it on a grassy hill?
8) Warriors Aura working? I swear it worked on my first trained unit but after that everything started as a level one.
Better game request thoughts:
1) When selecting one to learn, it would be nice to know what spell book they belonged to. Some are obvious (eg. Summon skeleton belongs to summoning), many are not. This would help setting up custom sovereigns.
2) Some settable areas had WHY too much essence others while way too many spots had none. I had two sites that had over 20 essence. Suggest you cap it and increase the probability of getting at least a point or two in more locations.
3) Upon completion of learning a new spell, you go straight to the select new spell screen. It would be nice to be able to exit and reenter this screen. This way I could do things like double check spells already learned, re-access troop needs, etc. before making my selection.
4) Please stop friendly nation units from parking on my roads or let mu units pass through them. Don’t mind if they use my roads but it is really annoying to be continually blocked by them.
5) Please develop a way (either automatic or player driven) to identify key items on paper map. Not so much an issue on tiny/small maps but on anything larger it is really easy to lose things like hero statues or quest locations and then spend 15 min searching and zooming in/out trying to find them again later in the game.
