I brought this up before and never really got a yay or nay.
In old Gal civ II we had 'focus' sliders on what percentage of each of the weapons/defense types we wanted the AI ship builder to focus on. I actually liked it as I could let the designer put 40% into Beams and 60% into guns and walk away while my engineers redesigned what I wanted.
Is that type of feature possibly going to make a return?
I say this because I really like the designs of the ships the Art guy is building. I really do. All I want is to take his templets and re arm them to my needs at the time. This would save me from having to re invent the wheel every time and allow me to go about doing 'Gilmoy' type micromanaging.
Otherwise I have to go back and build from scratch. Now I know you have 'weapon' type ships Cutters use Beams, Defenders use missiles and such. But hey, what if I want my Paladins to have a bit longer range or 30/70 Beams/Missiles and Full defenses equal on bottom? I have to pull out the templet and do it myself, and furthermore it will not auto upgrade when new tech is available.
I know this is a pidly thing, but was wondering if its even possible to put this in, even at a later date?
