I got the quest to get the collar so i can get the ascia unit (once i find him). first step of the quest went fine. then i go to get the collar and this is where everything gets ruined. I have reloaded the game 4 times in a row and all 4 times its the same thing. Once the quest is done and i have the collar. a bunch of things all screw up at same time. !. my movement points I had 2 when i entered and they reset when im done as if the turn ended though it should not have. But now I cant end my turn. the end turn is greyed out. enter or A keys do nothing. left having to reload and try again. 2. My fame has just leveled up but no new hero. 3. if i go to try to reload the game crashes. 4. I cant just relaunch the game because im told the game is already running. 
It is as if when I do this quest a bunch of things that are supposed to take place are too much for the game engine to handle so the game gets stuck and even after crash is still trying to complete these actions. 
I am left having to go into task manager and end the process before i am allowed to relaunch the game. and try again.
