Recently saw frozen synapse game. Its described as a tactical turn based squad vs squad game that is not a clickfest. fast clicking with mouse not required to do well. Any players out here have informed opinions on quality , playability, fun, challenge factors?
EDIT: Played a bit on steam free weekend. very good game, warts and all. Anyone liking tactics without a super fast click -fest will enjoy, IMHO.
There's a demo of it. Let me see if I can find a link. I'm certain I've played it....
Free weekend for it on steam right now, can just play it I think, if you have steam account.
Being fan of games like Jagged Alliance, and tectics genre in general, I love this game a lot. As previous posters said, there is demo/free weekend, so you can try it out.
Quality, (re)playability, fun, challenge are all present and accounted for.
It is just a 230 mb download too, Ill give it a shot during the weekend.
Excellent game. Period.
If someone loves tactics - must try that one.
I just played the tutorial and I am not sure what to think.
Are we supposed to see all enemies at all time? I am new to that whole simultaneous turn based setting. I grew up with Jagged Alliance and X-com games. It's like a new part of my brain needs to be activate.
In the first mission you see your enemies, then when you play for "real", you do not. Whole fun is to predict and outsmart your opponent.
If this is the game that came out a few years ago..........yeah I played the shit out it. Very interesting take on 'strategy gaming'. Liked it a lot!
