To bad there's no hot seat. I would like to join a game where there are an unlimited number of players on the game where people can join. Two things I've come up with.
1. It would have to expand a number of star systems that would increase when some one joins.
2. The galactic council could be redesigned where there could be multiple galactic councils. You could leave and join them at will.
3. This would probably have to exists as an option where the parts of the map where certain players would log off at times.
a. This could be handled where an Ai would play it with the possible option you could not declare war on this faction until the player logs back on.
b. The part of the map where the player is playing would simply disappear when logged off.
That is a wet dream where there could be thousands of people on one map. This map would be huge. The turns would have to have a time limit. This would have to done with customized, or modded factions.
4. Now as far as gaming otherwise I would like an in game communication. Sound would be best. I don't want pictures on the game of other players. Maybe a screen you could shift to where you could see a picture of the player this could be an avatar or picture of the faction leader. Also besides sound a place where you can type messages. The picture or even the sound should not be the only option, or a required option because not everyone has microphones or cameras.
I would like to have an option to bring in modded content. I realize their would have to be stipulated rules on this, so it would not become overpowering.
There should be options for teamplay, or individual as far as how the players play the game.
All this would be decided by whoever hosts the game.
There could be a more flexible trading between players that instead of just picking options you would also be able to add notes.
I would like to also have an option to network instead of multiplayer, or have a combination of hotseat and networking computers together. I think it is kind of strange that companies think if we have people over we can just hook up a million computers to play a game like this when the Xbox is usually only one in the house, so there are usually multiple player options. If there are a bunch of people over there is no reasonable way to hook umteen computers when there is only one or two on a multiplayer session. This is the scenario I've seen on a regular basis where hot seat in civilization has worked out in the past, but Galactic civilizations falls short.
