As in what I mean by City tile, i meant the tiles on field of battle when you do the battle personally not auto resolving. I encountered this on first day of playing this game.
You see, I was eager for revenge, since I went from 5 cities to 2 and rebounded back and took all my cities back. . . Then launched a counter attack against Resolyn to take their cities. . . was a dogpile, 6 vs 1.
My army chewed up their melee quickly then proceeded to fail hard against resolyn archers, I was boasting 43% hit chances against them.
Eventually my army dropped down to just two iron golems which finished off all the stragglers except for last three which fled to safe tiles where my iron golems couldn't touch them for some silly reason.
I was chasing this archer then it fled there to that spot where my Iron Golem which probably weight few tons cannot break a Market's stalls which is made of fragile wood.

Then I was like ok, there's two other archers i can still kill.. nope!
I got stopped by sticks of wood that's thinner than a Iron Golem which is huge brute.

Then i was like whatever at least I can kill the last archer.
Then I got stopped because the archer called these tiles his personal space and i'm not allowed to come one tile closer at all. Only can stare.

Those three archers refused to leave their tiles, Defeat is now guaranteed if I kept on trying to wait them out. I thougt about it, and decided to pass on passing for 100 turns and chose to autoresolve because i suspect that it doesn't take terrain into consideration and only just targets the enemy units.
Surely enough, that autoresolve denied the NPC a illegitimate win, was a close call.Because I refuse to accept defeat just cuz my Iron golem cannot crush a tiny piece of wood. And not allowed to across a invisible line.
