I could have sworn that in earlier iterations you could retreat from battle by moving your units backwards off the far side of a map. Maybe I am wrong. In any case, I do not see that happening here and am wondering if this is intentional or if I am missing something.
One reason I am asking is that I just had an awful battle with a much stronger AI opponent, whom I could eventually beat by simply running away in loops around the map and shooting from afar. It took a long, boring time. My guess is that it must have been close to 100 turns. Is it a "feature" that combat can theoretically go on indefinately? I would certainly like to see retreating be at least an option in some circumstances, even if it means that all retreating units suffer an automatic HP penalty or injury (including non-champion units).
