Really Loving LH
Anyway - thought I would post this amusing story about the AI.
So I am playing the Dwarflike race and am doing pretty well. I start mass producing Iron Golems every turn and they have a defense of 50 or something from my forge city. The
wraith race is ahead of me in power but they are about 1000 miles away (Huge map). Suddenly they throw down at me - but who cares - they are so far away, right? I shrug my sholders and about 20 or 30 turns pass. Suddenly I have finished moving a stack of golems to a frontier city and manage to see 4 full armies of 6 units each of my enemy bearing down on that city. Colour me impressed! Normally this would be a serious attack. But you silly AI - you have mostly archers in your stack and I have near invulnerable iron men that will shrug off your arrows like rain and turn your archers to pudding! Attack!
The battle starts, the archers let fly ... and the arrows obliterate my golem army in three turns. WTF????? So I spend an hour or so searching the internet on combat mechanics. I must be missing something. Nothing. So I search for "Fallen Enchantress archers overpowered" to get relevant info. Nothing. WTF??? So I load up the game and
look at the stacks of these archers. Attacks of 66? Attacks of 96??? *Gulp* Then I hover the pointer over the values. Deathstrike Bow? Wait a second - the deathstrike bow was a one off artifact that I modded into the game along with other treasures. This artifact has an attack of 22 and punches through all armour! So I checked my XML and sure enough I was missing the

Tags. Which means that the AI stumbled over this artifact, asked my stupid xml "Is this a unique weapon?" To which my mod said "Nope!". The AI then said "Cool!" and started mass producing these sniper rifles. So the AI was smart enough to capitalize on my goof up and use it to drive a stake through my heart. Well Done Frogboy!
