This looks great. I've only been able to play a few turns on 1.0 but I felt like I should mention this because I've got all this stuff for free. Thanks!
The shadows look great, but on goodie huts, crystal crag etc they don't look like part of the landscape per-say. Its a weird trick for my eyes to figure out what I'm looking at even though I know what I'm looking at.
The sun seems to be at 12 o'clock as to not show the that there is no shadowing on some set pieces. I know it will be a pain in the as to do but moving the sun to 10 or 15 degrees and have the set pieces throw a shadow would finish up the look.
Just my personal opinion. Not a knock. I've tried not to play for a couple months so I could see this. The look and detail of it is incredible.
Again only a couple turns in, but the path finder doesn't always need to be on. You could make it a click to activate or a hot key. I can tell its trying to do path finding unlike Gal Civ. Its a little delayed and trying constantly when your on your selected stack. Gal Civ only had open space with a planet or two in your way, lol.
OH!! and this could help new players. Was trying to think about that while I played. The grid should be on by default and either be super light as to not mess with the graphics of the landscape, or just follow the mouse pointer (kinda like in tac combat).
This looks to be the game you wanted though. Cheers to you folk. Good luck.
