Actually I think that Stardock has done admirably in their respective game niche.

I bought into the original Elemental War of Magic, got the betas and went on through release.

It did not perform stellar, but i i played it and got a lot of fun out of it...

Then they come along with Fallen Enchantress and give me a free upgrade to it!  This had to cost them money and resources, but this tells me that they do have some integrity about them and something i see lacking nowadays, a sense of honor.  

I've been playing LH now for a while and REALLY like that.  I think it is one of the closest successor's to MOM I've ever seen.  It may not follow that perfectly, but in many ways it exceeds that vision.
