So, there's my first problem. I have friends who I constantly have to give resources to, but 500 a piece... Kills my hand. Is there any file, of any sort, that I can edit just for myself, so that if I was to hold shift, I can give a larger number?

Yes, in your user.settings file.

Now, to my second problem. Details withheld, I'd like to lower the limit of mines within a gravity well. Again, is there a file that I can access to have power over that? And, will the files have to be consistent with other players in my game, for the game to run? Or synchronization of the files not so important? (Basically, if I change the file for myself, will I be able to see these changes, but other people around me won't be affected?)

Yes you'd need a mod to do that, and it is not a one line edit like your other question. The mine limit is determined on a per planet basis, so you need to edit every single planet and change the mine limit on each. If you don't want to do that yourself check out my Enhanced 4X mod, along with many other things it changes how mines work so you need radically fewer of them.

Make a mod and convert the entities from the installs GameInfo folder or download the reference files already converted

look at the bottom for

maxSpaceMineCountPerPlayer 150

you will have to tell notepad to be able to open the reference files, select always open files of this type. they are all text, just with different extensions like .entity, .mesh, .str etc.

Thank you, so much. Again. So I'm going to assume that once I'm done editing the reference files, I can just copy them and replace the original files with these edited reference files?

And, I am still unable to find the user.settings file... Maybe it's the lack of coffee at 2:20 AM... Or it's just me.

Hm, I've checked, but nothing shows me the amount of resources I can give... Key-bindings on how to do it... And that's really as close as I can get to what I'm looking for. I'm attempting to find some sort of file to allow me to give more than 500 resources per click, and it doesn't seem like it's here... Even though it should.

Yes, but did you make a separate mod in your mod folder with the changes you made, rather than changing the files in the steam directory? Changing the original files is ALWAYS a bad idea in games like Sins that have proper mod support. Eventually you'll screw something up and need to reinstall, trust me. With mods, you can just deactivate them when you do that or want to play multiplayer.

Moving back to second, unresolved problem. I'm going to assume that the resources can't be changed, or I'm not looking in the right place. I saw in a similar thread that someone complained about the 250-per-click option, and no one offered a solution. I'm guessing it's just one of those things that I can't change.

Oh well~ Mines have been changed. That's always a good thing. At least I got something done.

Bump due to recent problems.

So, now I've got the DLC, Forbidden worlds, and this (obviously) replaced my files.

Two questions;

1. Is there a Rebellion 1.5 reference file, anywhere? Like the one I used previously?

2. I know I need to work on the new planets, Barren, Ferrous, and all that. I'm trying to set mines back to zero. But I've done that with the previous files, am I able to copy and paste my work from the 1.1(?) files, to the 1.5 files, or has there been new lines in the 1.5 planet files?

They're likely in the same places you got it from before. I use Harpo's on Wincustomize when I don't want to convert them myself.

Yeah, you're going to have to redo that from scratch. All the planets changed.

The place where I got them before was from Myfist0, on this exact thread. But the link takes me to a 1.1 file set, that's why I'm not sure. ^^

After looking for "Harpo" on Wincustomize, I found this, https://www.wincustomize.com/article/354079

This looks a lot more complicated than just grabbing reference files.

I uploaded a new set to the same page so I don't need to change links, but the individual files are now in a Reb_1.5 folder as I don't want to fill the site with old files.

Modding SoaSE first requires the files in BIN format be converted to TXT format.

This includes all modifiable TXT format files for Rebellion 1.5, Diplomacy 1.37, Entrenchment 1.055, and the Original 1.195.
