Having Steam Workshop for the game would be great to have, as the fan made mod manager is... lacking. Not to mention it'll increase awareness of the game because not many are on the Workshop.

Wait what? how does it do that, I use the workshop for skyrim and torchlight 2 and can still edit whatever mods I download with the creation kit or guts, also you can still download whatever mods you want so I dont see how it takes any control away from you?

Also I'm for getting LH workshop support!

Phew, that's good to hear.

I never used steamworks recently, so I couldn't speak to it. I was just very fearful that since steam-only games required steam, that the same would be true for mods - that only the steamworks approved mods would work with the game and/or if you did apply your own mods, that they would be overwritten the next time steamworks updated their mods or steam updated the game.

Steam Workshop support would be fairly brilliant. I've enjoyed it so far with Skyrim, Torchlight 2, and Civ V.

There's 47 mods on Fallen Enchantress Nexus. No, that's not really very many, but it's not exactly miniscule, either.

I'd also say that Stormworld doesn't seem very basic, simple.

It's a circular argument.

The easier it is to use / distribute mods, the more people will be interested in mods, and then more people will make mods.

Therefore, if there are cost-effective means of increasing the use of mods, and their goal is to have mods extend the longevity of a title, then they should do it.

It always surprises me when someone sets out to make a firm argument that adding more functionality/accessibility/support to a game is a bad thing.

I'm not quite understanding your diagram.  Can you make it simpler for me?
