Installed the game (via Impulse and then Steam) on a Vista machine and it seems to work fine except that all the map except a little around the margins is white.  The other screen elements, menus etc. and the minimap are functional, but the map is featureless white except a green fringe. This is in both the tutorial and a new game.   Essentially, I am blind as to actually playing.  Did a Windows Update for optional items, changed resolutions for the screen and in game, but no luck.   

Please let me know any suggestions.  I've looked through 10 pages of posts here without seeing anything similar.  If it were common, I am sure it would have been fixed.
