frogboy, how about two versions of the dlc, one shaved down in size for the 32 bit crowd, and one enlarged for the 64 bit crowd?

You're overthinking it, man. You bought a game (as did I), which turned out to suck, and Stardock said - we're sorry about that, here, have another game for free, this one's better. They didn't have to do that and most game studios wouldn't, they don't owe you or I anything, it was purely out of the goodness of their hearts / in order to maintain their good reputation with their fans (take your pick depending on how cynical you are ).

That's done, okay. This is something extra and separate they did just to gauge the interest in DLC, it has nothing to do with WoM, treat it as a separate transaction. Either the maps are worth $5 to you or they aren't, that's what Stardock is trying to learn here. Personally: okay, I give in, that full Anthys map is worth the $5 to me. You can only do an awesome huge map of the whole world rooted in the lore once though, I hope the next DLC has more than maps - a new faction(s) with new models, special units, and/or faction/unit traits to go with maybe? There has been a lot of complaining about diversity and such.

Yes, because the game allowing us to play with our friends would inconvenience you Wizaerd. 

Though if an MP will be part of a DLC at some point.. I'd personally prefer it be like the single player experience. AI phase, player A(B,C,E, etc).

The price behind DLC is justified as it is time they (Stardock, or whomever really) are spending time to create something that is not a core component to the game. It can be played and enjoyed with or without. So you are paying for the convenience of not having to go in by hand and build the cool stamps and maps yourself.

I support this unpopular opinion. Brad has explained many times how much effort, ie time and money it takes to create a multiplayer component for a game, and then there's only very few people using it, and most of them only a couple of times. It really would affect future improvements to the single player experience. And then, with multiplayer, there would be even more whining about balance...

First, where is the evidence to support your claim? Second, the game is finished. DLC is added extra-take it or leave it-content. The majority or minority is irrelevant. We'd get what we pay for, and if there are those of us out there willing to pay for it.

Or i could look at it as,is the new incarnation a kept promise as a replacement for the first incarnation.

First incarnation had HUGE as a map size selection.Its not in the new incarnation.As map size is a big one for me,the new incarnation is a step backwards in that.I paid for a game with HUGE maps.

First incarnation had more factions allowed per map.Now i seem limited to a max of 8.Another big one for me,and to me another step in the wrong direction.

First incarnation had ships.New incarnation doesnt..Another big one for me,and another step in the wrong direction far as i feel about it.

BUT for only $5 more,i can get huge maps back,ships back,etc... ?Things i already paid for ,i can now pay an additional $5 to get back ?Seems to me they could have picked a far better choice of features to test dlc reactions,than ones i already paid for in the original purchase.

I'll buy it for the stamps. But also to support more substantial DLC.

You're sounding...kind of entitled to me.

You still have WOM. If you want to play that, play that. It had Dynasties too. Does that mean FE has to have dynasties? FE isn't a replacement game. 

If you want the map pack, cough up the 5 bucks. 

People keep saying it isnt a replacement game,but it is.When refunds were offered,the choice was hang in there and get incarnation 2 (then called an expansion) for free because,

"companies have a moral obligation to deliver what they say they're going to deliver and frankly, Stardock failed to deliver the game we said we were going to deliver."

or get a refund.I didnt want a refund then, i dont want one now.I also however dont want to be double charged for features.

I can see where you are coming from. In a perfect world you have a point. But in the real world Stardock have tried quite hard to be reasonable. Ultimately they are a business and they need to make money. If WoM had been released exactly like FE then I would have been fairly happy. Sure some people feel differently but I think we're quibbling over minor points, Stardock have done more than most games companies would have.

Of course that doesn't mean I'm letting them off the hook for releasing FE too early! I'm still waiting for another couple of rounds of substantial bug fixes before I'll regard it as complete.

Honestly, I would buy a $5 DLC just to get a pony.

But Stardock foolishly already included it in the base game!
