Apologies to any and all trying to follow along, but I seem to have mis-configured MS Expression in encoding Parts 6-10, so have been having to re-encode them. I at least want the text in the video readable, which it wasn't, and the audio was pretty terrible too (not that I have a golden voice by any stretch of the imagination).
I moved all the previous 'takes' (games) and the subpar 6-10 to a Scraps playlist on my Youtube account. Unfortunately I can't do anything about 1-4, as I recorded those with other software that recorded in pretty low quality (especially the framerate), despite having small footprints, not recording smoothly at all ... in fact the video I uploaded from parts 1-4 is the raw video generated by the recorders I was the direct output they generated. With Microsoft Expressions Screen Capture I am using now (from part 5 on), the raw video is in a proprietary format Youtube can't recognize, so I have to encode it first. Unfortunately, the encoding process is slow ... a one-hour video takes 3-5 hours to encode during which all four cores on my poor legacy CPU are choked so I cannot continue playing and recording while encoding, then another hour to upload to Youtube which chokes my upstream so I can't do much Internetwise.
The last of the re-encodes will finish in a few minutes now, so hopefully I can get back to recording new stuff. Unfortunately, I wasn't careful about the order of the re-encodings for parts 6-10, so 10 finished first, then 9, then I discovered it was out of order and prioritized 6, 7 and 8 to go in order. The fixed versions of 6, and 9 are thus already uploaded to Youtube, 10 will finish in half an hour at the time I write this. The original subpar 6-10 recordings are, as I mentioned, still available if you really want to watch them, but I've moved them into a Scraps playlist.
