FE Comments
Happy to have a stable game and to see city management is no longer a chore. Having played a couple of games, I have the following comments on the game.
Game Balance
- Seems to hard early on and way too easy once you get spells like Earthquake, Incinerate City, etc. These spells are more like nukes. The AI doesn't seem to use strategic spells?
Unit List
- When there are lot of units on the map, the current selected unit in the list needs to be better highlighted, (red box) around it. - Also needs a better way to show which units on the list have been moved and which ones have not.
City List
- Same as Unit list, better show which cities have been select and which ones have not.
Diplomacy
- Needs more option, like the ability to trade units, towns/city, resource centers, heroes. If you don't have a lot of influence points, it's impossible to end a war, get an alliance or do much of anything mid to late game.
Spell Book
- Never, never scroll without a scroll bar, bad, bad programming!! I was wondering where all my spell were, real books don't scroll, just give us pages with the spells on them.
Units/Armies in Cities
- There is no way to see the attack value of combined units in a city. This would be very helpful when a enemy army is approaching your city.
Map
- There still needs to be a way to move armies over water, it's too easy to locked/blocked on a peninsula or canyon early in a game on small and medium maps.
Heroes
- The hero in a lockbox is still dumb, you should be able to recruit level 1 types at some point in the game. Like to be able to bribe, capture, ransom, trade, seduce them. Would also like to see some hero's that give influence, +1 to zone of control to a city/outpost and capture/train creatures.
Unit types
- There should a healer type unit or equipment so one can be designed.
Quests
- On a large map, once I completed the goodie huts, there where no more quests on my side of the map, I held half of map.
Loot/Goodies
- The loot seems to be the same early or late game. The type/value should scale with early, mid, late game and/or hero level. A wood shield isn't much of a find late game. Maybe too early to tell after only a few games but there doesn't seem to be enough unique loot.
Wish List
- Would still like to see more RPG elements in the game (marriage, assassinations, thief's, good/bad (hero's, city governors, family members, etc.). Imagine good/bad hero's that recruit, bribe, spy, steal, capture, seduce, assassinate your faction or other faction members/hero's.
- Buildings/schools that can train hero's to set traps, use magic, map potions, create scrolls, capture/train creatures, +stats, expand influence, govern cities, etc.
