I'm almost done playing this massive (Large) game, and I've created a custom race with the Decalon trait. So here I am running around with a Sovereign who is Archmage of Death, Fire, and Master of Air, Water, Earth, Evoker III, etc etc... Level 20
Phenomenal Cosmic Power... itty, bitty, little Flame-Dart.
That hits for up to 120 something. (Fire power = 3).
Ever since starting out, I was using Shadowbolt - (I didn't have fire magic yet). So here I was really happy that I may have a good scaling nuke, especially when in the encyclopedia thing it shows Shadowbolt as "Resistable: No". Cool I thought! I don't just spam Flame-Dart whenever possible. So turned out I was wrong, Flame-Dart, while doing considerable damage, is really making casting seem boring - especially on the tactical map. Perhaps we can add single-target damage spells to each other school of magic while giving them a cool little twist? Also -Shadowbolt is not irresistible.
Shadowbolt: Actually make it irresistible/not magic but ramp up the damage to 75% of Flame-dart. Currently it is doing around 30% if not less when compared to Flame Dart. That way it can still damage immune to magic creatures (since there are no immune to physical damage creatures last I checked).
Flame Dart: Keep as is.
Water nuke: Perhaps a nuke that is 75% and slows the target?
etc.. etc..
