The Customer Is Always Wrong

Media must be the only commercial industry in existence that can thrive under the motto the customer is always wrong. Any other is either a necessity hence regulated or caves in to real world capitalist free market economics.

Anyone who doesn't believe me should go complain to a major media outlet and observe the response. Either, one your wrong because we know everything or two, your wrong because there is something wrong with you and your political demographic plus we know everything.

From Hollywood to PBS, it's the perfect dream industry for certain types of people and this attitude reflects that on all levels.

Thank goodness SOPA, PIPA, and ACTA are there to save them from internet freedom like JoeUser. What would this world come to if everyone just used the internet to report and comment as they please?

Even democratic government has to answer to its citizens (to a degree) when reelection comes up. The media? Not so much.

You would be right if the consumer was the true customer of the media. At one time, it was - when it had to survive on its own. However, now its customers are those who it preaches to. They are the ones that must be satisfied, and they really do not care about the average citizen.

I often call them the literate illiterati. The ones that do not know squat, but think they know it all.
