Just some random bits.. And I admit straight-off that these are pretty low priority things, but I wanted to get them out there anyway.
1) I've noticed that when I 'rename' an NPC champion, the flavor text in their description screen does not update to reflect their new name. Might it be possible to change the flavor text to recognize a $tring for the NPC's name instead of the static vanilla one so that it updates with their new name? I'm pretty sure I've noticed that during character creation, the generic flavor text background for my PC (sovereign) will update to reflect the name I've entered, so perhaps this could be done for NPCs as well?
2) On the subject of PC creation. The flavor text defaults to something about the PC having been a miner somewhere and having dug up a crystal that revealed their elemental powers. This text remains the same no matter what background the character chooses (assassin, merchant, adventurer, etc). Perhaps generic backgrounds could be written for each of the background career choices? I realize the player can always just add their own background (and I love that feature!), but this seems like an easy thing to add.
3) Also during character creation. When designing a new faction I have the ability to choose colors that are associated with that faction. I guess these determine unit coloring and the faction's flags? It's hard to picture during the creation process just what effect various color combinations will have and I suggest maybe adding a 'paperdoll' or avatar example so that the player can see what the final colors might look like on a typical unit.
3a) This may be a bug and it's sorta related: I can select a color for "metal" during the creation process. Can't remember exactly if it's faction creation or character creation.. but in either case ~ I've selected colors that never show up on my character or his equipment at all. In my last example I specifically chose a dark red for metal, but all of my character (and champion's) weapons appeared to be light blue. Is this feature broken, or am I missing something?
4) This is also possibly a bug and may be a known issue already, but it's something that kinda vexed me back in War of Magic as well. The clothing I choose for character and unit creation usually has descriptions like 'noble cloak, dark' and 'noble cloak, light', but the appearance on the screen is the exact opposite of the description. The "light" version usually appears black or maybe dark brown, and the "dark" version seems to be painted in the primary color I've selected at the bottom. Maybe this could be cleaned up with a description change.
4a) On a related note, it'd be nice to be able to pick the primary and secondary colors, but also have access to generic vanilla choices. Say for example I'd like to have a red tunic with white breeches, but brown leather boots? This is sort of in there already, but the two (dark) choices for footwear are like black and really dark brown (no real difference). Could it be possible to add a standard brown 'leather' color' and a standard grey 'steel' color to the options too?
