I needed to vent because it really bothers me that many of my friends refuse to try out Sins of a Solar Empire. Lately, I've been voicing a lot of praise and protracted accounts of game play, but driving friends and counterparts at work, friends outside of work, and even my girlfriend crazy. I'm sorry, but for several reasons, I really love this game. I admit, too much of anything can be unhealthy, so I'm toning it down (even with my friends that also play Sins).
As I said in another topic, when I look at a game, I measure the story, graphics, game play, music, and sound. When I played Trinity, I personally found all of these to be EXCELLENT. Ironclad Games clearly focused on each of those elements, putting all of their resources into making a great game. Rebellion will expand on that excellence.
It's just frustrating that many people are unwilling to try it or aren't into the genre. I don't think less of them, but I really wish they had a change of heart. Many of them can be heard talking about another game, sharing tales of adventure, discussing unit strengths and weaknesses, and describing strategies. I would love to hear that conversation, but over Sins of a Solar Empire. It's a powerful game, not to mention the mods that add even more value, and I wish they were into it.
I'm trying to tone it down and limit my mention of Sins to the few friends who actually play it. I also have this forum for that and it has been a good experience so far. I'm not incensed over it, but it does bug me sometimes. Thanks for letting me rant.
