After the War is meant to fix some of the more annoying design issues and bugs with the game, but really it's a matter of adding 0.1% polish to an almost finished product. My personal recommendation is that everyone use this.

ExpandedFactions is there to put some fantasy races in a fantasy game, a lot of people have helped out with it to give Elven and Angel cities completely new graphical looks, and there has also been some work to change the repeatable buildings for the other factions (like huts, workshops and so on). I would recommend that everyone who feels that the normal factions are a bit too similar, use this mod.

The Artifact mod fixes the issue of having very few magical items in the game. It adds weapons, armors and even magical mounts. And then there's the dungeons, as well - layer upon layer of increasingly difficult waves of enemies, holding onto precious artifacts, resources and sometimes even champions. This mod is mostly for those that enjoy the adventuring content in the game, it can help give you some fun and meaningful things to do while waiting for that next technology to finish.

Hear hear! Thank you Frogboy and thank you Heavenfall!  I haven't had a lot of time to play 1.4, but when I do play it, I'm really enjoying it now.

There is a really big bug that I am almost hesitant to reveal, because it makes it possible to beat hugely more powerful AI enemies.  If you get attacked on a particular turn (either by monsters or other AI players) you can load the autosave for that turn and everything will happen normally, except you will *not* get attacked at all on that turn, and often a 1-2 turn period after.  But if you are getting attacked each turn, all you need to do to win is get a good start (and sometimes even that is not necessary), and load the autosave for any turn that you get attacked by an enemy you can't beat.  As I said, I'm very hesistant to report this  because it means even on Challenging (500%) difficulty (one of Heavenfall's difficulty settings I think) you can beat any sized enemy by loading the autosave each turn you get attacked.  In all the times I've tried it loading an autosave always prevents the AI attacking you in any way.  This has happened in all WoM versions I've played, with or without mods.

why you hesitating to report

and most of all why would anyone use a bug like that?

this is not a competitive game (unfortunately), just a single player challange that remains closed in your room

no one will ever know what you did

so why on earth would anyone cheat to win alone in his own room against a ai?

i dont get it...

To me, this is less of a "bug" than something you can choose not to do so as to not make the game non-fun...

You're right, you shouldn't be "attacked" for telling the devs about an exploit. How you use it is up to you.
