I wanted to bring up the issue of advent where most strength/econ balancing was obviously done 

at the birth of the race which was before vannila sins was released and the illuminator bug was present. 

Is it then safe to assume as a result of fixing the bug then more re-balancing needs to be done though

currently is being done but to the effect of dealing with the absence of the bug? During the bug advent 

were strong and now its no longer the case which assuming that is how developers still see them.

Can someone shed some light on this please.

Advantages of the Illuminator Bug

1. It increased the strength of the advent military significantly.

2. Overshadows the advents weak economic and military production.

Disadvantages of fixing the bug and currently remaining weaknesses 

. Channeling on the domina fails because of selective targeting disrupting repair as 

well as its dsiabling ability.

.The domina can't repair ships fast enough compared to the overseer and the hoshiko. 

. One ability that bypasses specific enemy units shields (detonate antimatter).

. Economy fails to employ the holy trinity combo (vertigo, shield repair,cool down aura ) without

 scaraficing the need to produce a high volume of units to be competitive against other races. 

.The Tec economy can employ Dunov emp to disrupt shields and akkan to disable 

abilities - where they are fleet wide or area of effect abilities. Once emp is active units become

vulnerable to javelis spam.

.Repulsion from the guardian does little to stop a Javelis's with increased range. The ability can 

only negate damage from other types of ships but during multi-player games most players use long

range frigates and a smart tec player will stick to that and use ability disabling from the akkan 

and squeze through repulsion. 

Economics of Sins

 .After Tier 4 its just starbases through allegiance and trade. A very expensive investment when

 placing starbases at locations that are not on the front lines. 

. The economic output of tec's industries and cheap easily beefed up Javelis makes things worse.

.Vasari's defensive strength and repair abilities with phase missile over shadows there economic 

weakness to tec.

Conclusion:

Whilst the advent depend on damage reduction for defense its very difficult to employ due to

 the economy and the not so very powerful illuminator.
