To be clear, I just started playing the game again a week or so ago. I'm baffled by many things, but that may not be the fault of the game. I was enjoying the game much more than my first few attempts, if that's any relief to the developers.
- My usual build order was Beacon of Hope, Farm... wait, no Hut? I had 48 free spaces, material to build it (even though the tooltip said otherwise) and no reason I could see why I couldn't build a hut. And in one game, never did a Hut become an option. My capital had five citizens for 30 seasons. /ragequit
- Increasing the build times of units and the study times of techs... I'm sure there's a master plan at work here, but it seems fairly dull. The rewards handed out by the game (new gear, new build options, etc) now come much too slow, in my opinion. Speeding up the pacing seems to be bugged, as the first time I looked at a peasant, it showed three seasons to build, but after I looked at a pioneer's training time and came back, it was 10 seasons.
- This sounds like I'm contradicting myself, but the items you *find* in the wild seem to come too quick. I like it better this way, but honestly, I'd trade 50% of the increase for a cheap unit to guard my city. Having a well equipped hero that can't move more than five squares away from home seems to make this issue stand out
- Maybe 50% of the time I've tried to start a game, I've gotten a "cannot connect" message. There's no reason for this on my end. Never seen this prior to the update.
- It looks like movement through some terrain is more expensive now (or I'm wildly unlucky). It'd be nice if there was some way to see the cost of movement into squares or have the AI take somewhat more intelligent paths to destinations, but buying travelling boots doesn't seem to convey as large a movement bonus as they used to. Limiting us to one hero (and I have yet to *see* a hero for hire), then taking away mobility seems harsh.
- 10 seasons for a peasant? Nearly three years to train someone to swing a club? Really? I hate it when folks try to force realism into their fantasy games just for the sake of realism, but I've lost two towns to wandering monsters (3 hp monsters?!) because I couldn't get back in time with my only hero. Those were /ragequits too.
- I've seen it mentioned often while trying to figure out why Huts seem so utterly goofy (to me), but the strategic/cloth map seems to have a number of issues.
- This was from prior to the update, but since I haven't seen, much less hired, a new hero since then, I'll just add this in. Rarely, maybe 1 in 10 heros, there would be no Equip button. I could buy items, but they just carried them around unequipped. I couldn't find a reason for this... is there one?
I appreciate any clarifications that can be offered. Ignorance is a terrible thing!
