Fallen Enchantress is perfectly fine. I like it because it implies magic, darkness, corruption and danger. Sorry to hear you are so embarrassed by it.

As far as it being too late, why?

It's not like they have to delay certain parts of the project because they don't have names for things. They can give creatures or traits generic names until they can come up with better ones. Not that I'm an expert or anything but that seems pretty obvious I think.

Personally, I think it's great that Derek and company are asking for our input with the various contests and whatnot. Makes the game feel a little more personal I think.

 

I already contributed a few ideas. They may be crappy but at least I tried to be constructive. Why don't you do the same?

Several based on what caliber it is:

Green Dragon :  Acerbic Wyrm, Acid Wyrm, Mordant Wyrm, Vitriolic Wyrm

Red Dragon  :  Burning Wyrm, Pyre Wyrm, Lava Wyrm, Magma Wyrm  (maybe Molten Wyrm) 

 

Giant Black Widow Spider  :  Blight Bane Matriarch (Female since all the males got gobbled up)

 

Blessed Hauberk

Began with them as separate lists (for an individual dragon versus a 'faction' or 'breed' of dragons) but eventually just combined them.

Dragon of the Tall Grass  - Better name for a Green Dragon - [advantage: it explains why they aren't always lurking in the dark forests!]

Dragon of Mortal Wounds - Better name for a Red Dragon - [a bit specific, but it's more mythical sounding than "bloody dragon" which is really more of an epithet anyway.]

Murderous Web Lurker - Better name for a Giant Black Widow Spider - [or venomous, or giant, or cruel, or greater, or any combination of these and more]

Mayhap sticking with themes might be appropriate for naming some equipment\spells\monsters
IE: Where you have stated that cold resist gear is sun or summer, maybe Sun Dragon or Summer Drake maybe appropriate and keeps some consistency for people to follow. Or etch into other cultures names for dragons rather than sticking with the European name.
/shrug you could put together a cobbled list of names, or make it all sound like it belongs.

Aegrand Battleplate - magical armor w/ increased defense (a word evoking aegis and greatness for better protection)

Veteran - unit starting at 2nd experience level

Ashwake- red dragon name (an apt description into a name)

Clambercoil- green dragon name (derived from the imagery of being overcome by vines/nature-overgrown)

Looming Matriarch- Giant spider name (weaving mother- couldnt come up with a good spinster or widower combo/name and widowmaker is more of a boss name)

EDIT: If on the otherhand your looking for more of a species name derivitive something like Red Fang Skulker could work (using skulker or some other word in place of spider for this and simillar species).  While thinking about it I imagined a different breed or boss type using a corpse marionette skill where when an opponent would be delt lethal damage they are charmed instead, or that a queen type could spawn broodling swarms (could be scarry in conjunction with an imobilizing web skill and a few other spider monsters in the group) which could alternatively be worked as some kind of action skill.

Scourger or ravager could work as an alternate for dragon species, or some other word that evokes thier apex predator status or behavior.

Viridian/Vermilion are synonyms for green/red.
