I immediately used that tutorial posted way back about making larger map sizes. It crashed my computer so many times.
I love The Real Faege (sp?) because it's such a large map with large landmasses and lots of room for expansion.
I remember the old Civ II WWII scenario where it was Europe only. The map was huge - There were so many cities and so many nations. When you played Russia, even though you were huge it took so long to mobilize because of it.
I want a map that is large enough to contain realistically sized continents with details that are comparable to earth. I wish the maps could be rounded so you could actually feel like you were taking over the entire world. Maybe add an option?
Obviously just link the sides, don't try to turn it into a globe because flat maps are better for pen and paper feeling.
But seriously, I want something that is reminiscent of the epic sized maps of the Civilization II+ series, where having twenty cities barely covers a third of a medium sized continent. A map big enough that each of the AI factions can pan out before ever meeting each other and carve out large empires.
Epic should mean epic if it's in relation to size. Or if they added a separate realm or floating islands, maybe that would add enough more to the map that it could be smaller and still feel epic because it'd be like there were multiple campaigns in one.
