Ok I will chime in here because I am sick of fanbois telling me this is a beta game. Beta was done once, it was declared over and Stardock released an unfinished, rushed, buggy game. They got hammered by game reviewers, then they asked for a SECOND beta. They got their second Beta, and then it ended. And now we have somehow again begun yet another beta.
It's certainly not a beta game, but it is a beta patch you can tell because even to download it you have to tick to allow pre-release versions in Impulse. That and the fact they tell you it's a beta.
1.11 is not a beta
1.19 is a beta it's that simple.
If you've had enough please leave, no one here will stop you. Or continue to rant, as for calling me a fanboy because I'm not ranting along with you and understand software development and the sort of overhauls they are doing frankly who cares label people how you will.
You know really, you go leave. Honestly take that krap elsewhere. Nothing but blatant fanbois allowed, or more than likely all that will remain. The "beta" patch supposedly fixed memory leaks in the non beta version of the game....just let that soak in a little while ok...I'll wait while you try and wrap your mind around that one.
So the 1.1 version that you refer to obviously had stability issues....because they patched to try and deal with them...and yet like every patch, including the 1.1 REAL VERISON!!!! there has been crashing and stability issues. So this is your weak defense? That 1.1 was the NON beta version..you sir may call it whatver you want, but if it is still crashing and causing me to just rage quit because of the annoyance then I call it one hot steaming load.
Gloves coming off man, I so sick of hearing that this game is beta, because you know what? They just threw this one under the bus and started another game, that I supposedly get for free. We shall see we shall see. The incompetence is becoming blatantly obvious, they are unable to fix the crash..they simply cannot do it. And what made me really boot up a game was the last patch...man I thought they fixed the portrait problem and eliminated huge memory leaks....maybe I can actually finish my first ever game of Elemental.....
But guess what? The portraits were immediately jacked up, they were still screwed up and I mean fast. So I was like are you freaking serious?!?? And then I get the "BANK" sound and my game crashes right on cue....just like EVERY patch or version of this game including the 1.1 patch. Stardock should have never made their own in house game engine, they don't know how to do it right, and they can't fix their own mess.
If you'd actually read _anything_, you'd realize that no one is saying the game is a beta. The patch is a beta. And they are patching to fix bugs that still exist and to improve the performance on those that are not having issues.
1.19 is buggy, and is a preface to 1.2. 1.19 should be called 1.2b, to stop posts like this. This whole argument is over beta and bugs and whether or not the patch is beta or the game is beta or whatever.
I seem to recall Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Fallout:NV as all having game stopping bugs on release and some are still being patched, but by the community since support stopped from Bethseda. Programs crash. Programs have bugs.
Operating systems, game systems, phones, everything that utilizes a programmed way of operating has the potential to crash.
The fact that a people are not experiencing crashes does not make them "fanboi"'s, it just makes them luckier than some. The fact that people are pointing out that your post is more of a rant than something constructive does not make them "fanboi"'s, it makes them mature adults.
This is a community, and there's a lot of people that just take the crashes and post the logs, and if they believe in the future of the game they stick around. Otherwise they get refunds and move on.
People that don't get refunds and rant instead of offer constructive assistance, or complain constantly in a non constructive manner instead of just waiting for another patch to come along, are not doing anything to help the situation. And calling names, and telling other people to leave for disagreeing, is not suitable for a forum based discussion.
Your post is more suited for a blog. I'm not saying some points are not valid, but it is not suited to an actual discussion because you don't seem, from what I can determine, to be willing to discuss anything, just demand and complain.
Edit: I checked your history, and you do have a history of making constructive comments, and I can understand your impatience in what's going on. I was a special edition preorder and shelled out a lot of money I technically couldn't have afforded to because I felt the game was going somewhere great. When the release happened, I wanted a refund at first until I saw the way Stardock responded.
My money is already gone, and I'm not hurting for it, so I'm willing to sit around and wait. If you're finally feeling that tinge of being fed up, I would just suggest uninstalling and moving onto something else for a few months and coming back. At this point if you're not hurting for money, I wouldn't recommend the refund route if you bought in time to get the two expansions/additional games for free.

David, I wasn't trying to sound condescending in my original unedited post, but after so many good and helpful threads, what's pushed you over the edge this time? Because the last few posts just seem out of character for you.
