Gone a couple hunderd turns into 3 games with the latest beta, p. Several items that I have noticed.
Children - before the BETA, my children were almost always channelers. Since the BETA, I have not had a single child prove to be a channeler, though wives that I have gotten for my sons usually seem to be channelers. And my children almost always seem to start with a move of 1, and unlike the pre-beta, you cannot increase that stats by spending points when leveling up.
Other Sovereign's Marriages - Is it expected that all the NPC sovereigns start the game with a wife? In my latest game I started with 2 opposing factions within 10 tiles of my starting spot. I took a save on the first or second turn and tested by restarting several times. I was able to reach their home cities in 5 turns or less and there was already a wife stationed there. (and it seems to me their spouses always have the same name in every game, leading me to believe that they are supposed to start with a spouse.)
Mobility Spells - The spells Mobility and Greater Mobility might be bugged. The do not show up as an enchantment, they use no mana to maintain, and they stack. So other than the mana cost on initial cast, every unit you have can have +3 speed on movement.
Monster Spawning - There seems to be a huge variance in monster spawning from game to game. Either I am getting completely swarmed, or there are no monsters at all past the 'initial' spawn that happens 5 turns into the game. I leave the option for monster respawning on, so it seems that sometimes the game does not detect that setting.
Sarog's Egg Quest - In my most recent game, I lost the fight at the Well of the Souls, but I still competed the quest. I got the egg and was able to return it Sarog, and she joined my kingdom. It would seem to me that if you loose the fight, you ought to fail the quest.
And just one more thought about city populations and taxes. I know the tax system still has a couple fixes coming in, but I think one other part is broken from my point of view. Currently, you need to use citizens of the city to build certain buildings, and train troops, etc. All well and good, however, the citizens that are in use for buildings and that type of enhancement are still being taxed and adding to Gilder supply. In my view, those citizens should no longer count towards taxable population, and then making people choose between tax money and all the other things that the buildings do.
