I've put the game away until V.2.5 comes out, or maybe forever, and here's a few of the reasons why. Game takes entirely too long to load, both from start and to load a saved game. No other game or program I own takes 1/4 as long. Units don't always move to assigned distant locations, esp. sovereign. Put 2 or 3 units guarding a resource then later add another, the last unit can't guard or fortify. Hard to tell what's going on at the end of a turn: long pause between announcement, they get scrambled, etc. No clear idea when a turn ends or begins - the musical cue and the appearance of a window are not in synch. Fighting units are weak, weak, weak. In one battle I had 10 units to 1, 8 of mine totally missed their strike, the 2 that did hit did one point of damage each; all were killed by a rather weak opponent. Speaking of weak, in 3 games my sovereign got all the way to 15 hit points by level 4. Big whoop! And yes, I did all I could to advance his constitution; no help! Diplomacy/Preceived Value are terrible. Last game I offered 50 gildar for 50 material to a penniless AI. Nope, he wanted 550. Version 1.08 cut back gildar received for battles in the wild. Why? Since goody huts don't product much goody, why take it away from defeated monsters. There's more, but this is enough. Oh yes...I am extremely disappointed!
