Is this a joke post? Civ 5 has nowhere near the same number of crash issues that Elemental had. I can't believe you actually think otherwise.
Do you not understand that whitewashing Elemental's release problems actually hurts this game?
I have no idea how many crash issues CIV 5 has had and I doubt you do either frankly, except maybe on your system.
The fact is modern games engines are complex and sit on top of a horrifyingly complex software absraction layer Game->DirectX->Various device drivers (which may actually respond in different ways), OS and other APIs which them selves sit on top of a huge variety of mix and match hardware. This is why almost every game has crash issues on some systems even those that use very well established engines.
Elemental has had a lot of crash issues on various systems OOM errors, etc. I agree more than the average game. But CIV 5 might as well you'd need proper stats and analysis to know if it had had more than the average game.
It's impossible to launch a PC game today that doesn't crash on any hardware/software combination that meets the required spec. I would challenge you to find one such game released in the past 5 years.
This is not to excuse elemental but just to underline the point of why releasing a rock solid title is so hard. As CIV 5 has been produced by a bigger company with a bigger QA department I certainly would expect it to have been tested on a wider variety of hardware at least.
It's also true that for some people Elemental may be more stable than CIV 5.
