I just got new type of soldier, better stats and better weapon, is there anyway to upgrade my older soldiers to these newer and better soldier?

The best method of doing this is send your solders straight into the heart of an enemy city. Then build modern replacements.
Hmm, doesn't that defeat the purpose of unit experience? I wonder if this feature was omitted by design or by lack of dev time.
Yea, I kind of liked the way Civ4 did it, allowing you to upgarde older units when you recieved new tech. Thus making exp worth something as you progressed.
