Next Unit / Skip command in tactical combat?

This one's driving me nuts and makes tactical combat a real pain. Often, the correct action is NOT to act. I'm not gonna charge every single time. So for sovereign and champions, the space bar seems to skip their current turn in tactical combat. For other units, no way Jose. Is this a bug or what? Some command that I've failed to discover? Please help. Thanks

Hmm...never knew about the spacebar. I usually click on the hourglass icon in the unit's special ability/item list to skip the unit's turn.

I had assumed it would be tab as it is on the world map.  I believe it's worked as such a couple times during tactical combat, but it's rather dicey.  I'll definitely give spacebar a shot.

The space bar or enter are supposed to do it and will the first couple combats.  Then it stops working and clicking the hourglass is the only way.  Oh and Tab isn't a skip it's switch to next.  So you might end up going back to the one you tried to skip if you use tab.
