I just wish they'd add a "start game already married" option so i don't have to spend years I should be building up my kingdom scouring the wastes for a wife! Maybe at least let me propose on the spot so i don't have to immediately after paying her for her "services"! I feel like a dirty old man!
I think this could be solved if every kingdom/empire could start with a custom sidekick (Custom Janusk)/+custom spouse. That way I wont have to worry about the stats of my future spouse or if I can ever find one. Last game I got married at turn...700 or something cause it was a total sausagefest
I've had games where it took me 300-400 turns to get married too, it's a pain in the ass. Especially because of Novaburst's comment below.
Just so you guys know I'm trying to implement an "Engaged" trait into the Sovereign creation; also trying to make a companion start with you. However, it's proving much more difficult then expected. I believe I'm going to have to make it either an item that spawns them or a "quest" to seek them. I haven't found the code to spawn a champion character as of yet. I can spawn a unit... but not a marry-able one or one who acts as a hero.
Doesn't the AI already cheat by starting with a spouse?
Yes, all the AI characters start off married and usually having children by turn 15-30. A little unfair, IMO.
Eh, considering half the fun is finding someone genetically compatible... (As in, will cause the strongest offspring), no, I don't think you should start with a spouse.
I agree, it should be optional which is why a trait is perfect for it's implementation.
So now that we have a game that is rich in features and options, people actually want to start reducing them? Bah.
Who, of everyone on this board, is actually reducing features? lol.
