Well I think he means that a game like this shouldn't be more demanding than say a game like Crysis. My computer can run Crysis fine, but it still experiences slow downs with Elemental. Elemental doesn't have graphics anywhere near that demanding. For a better comparison I can run GalCiv 2 huge map with all the AI players using CPU ehanced algorithms without any slowdown as well. There's clearly something up with the code of Elemental that it would be slowing up beastly computers where other more advanced games aren't.
Exactly and obviously. Elemental is a graphically simplistic game compared to something like Crysis, which I run at maxed settings, 1900x1080, with silky smooth performance (which is pretty sexy, amazing looking game and huge fun), and I run other far more graphically (than elemental) demanding games similarly. And I too run GC2 with any sized whatever and maxed settings/algs with zero problems (other than alt + tab being iffy and usually crash inducing). I lead 25 man raids in WoW with maxed settings and tons of addons most people recommend not using while raiding and get 60fps and zero issues (WoW isn't graphically intensive per se but large scale events put lesser PCs to the test for sure).
Read Boogie's latest thread - one of the top 3 issues they're going to look at is high end PC's having crap performance with the game. :/
Something is afoot!
