So I tried out making my sovereign as strong as I possibly could, getting him up to about level 20.
I finally got him to the point where he could single-handedly wipe out most armies on his own, but is he really strong?
Sure, his attack and defense are both over 200. But is it worth it when everyone laughs at him when he's not around because he looks like a Mr. T wannabee wearing over 40 different necklaces and rings? I wonder if he knows how ridiculous he looks? Probably not, because he made his wife and children wear the same things.
So what if his attack and defense are over 200? Everyone else can be just as powerful, assuming they're willing to be ridiculed behind their backs for their gaudy attire.
But he can cast! And his spells actually do damage! I found a spell that does reasonable damage in end-game: Arcane Strike. A 5 mana AOE spell that usually does about 150 damage average to each unit when owning a 2 fire shards and having an int of 30. But apparently, his children are better casters than him since they can regen man EACH ROUND in combat and get the same spells. Seriously, he had a daughter that could regen 6 mana per round...basically unlimited AOE spamming. The other children could regen 3 mana per round, so could still spam spells pretty effectively. Should he be proud or sad that his children have surpassed him in what was supposed to be his strongest point?
Oh well, at least there's one area where he'll always be #1: In the bedroom! Yes, breeding super children for his plans of world domination!
