This is from a game that became so bugged that would crash every couple of turns (also after the interim patch), so I don't know if it was a glitch.
In the first long game I played, I had two main opponents, Magnar and Gilean. Playing on default difficulty.
I only met Magnar at first, and he seemed to be roughly as powerful as me after a couple of hours playing.
Enter Gilean, and his power in the kingdom relations window is 150,000ish, to Magnar's 150ish - a thousand times stronger.I assume that I was in Magnar's league since Magnar didn't have a positive or negative modifier with me about our relative army sizes.
If you checked Gilean out on the graphs, he was either same or below either me or Magnar for all categories except for military where he was so high up that he basically squashed our graphs into horizontal lines. He had a modifier against me of -8 due to the relative strength of his army compared to mine.
What I find odd about this is that I had pursued mainly civics and war as techs, was high up in both with lots of revenue/food/resources, and had as many upgraded units as I could upkeep - so a 1000x more powerful value seems weird. Maybe he had all elite troops and had put all his tech into war? I had roughly 70% of normal troops and 30% of veterans, and was up to squad stacks.
Has anyone had a similar experience?
