It does make a difference because as a female, you guarantee that you have Janusk at the least will be there. If you go male, then you need to find out a female hero wandering around. If you bump into only male ones, you're screwed. OTOH, with a female sovereign, even if all the ones you find are female, you will always have Janusk.

Personally I think the best solution would be to make it so that Janusk starts as the opposite sex to what you select. If you're a male, he should become Januska \

Another possible solution would be to alllow your sovereign to marry another faction's children. Perhaps some of the neutrals?

I'm hardly an expert, but my experiences to date have shown that male children should be married off to another faction, as this nets you the wife, who will show up in your capitol as a controllable champion.  Marrying your female children off loses you that female, she joins the other factions, but HER children MAY choose to rejoin your faction, just as your son's children may desert you for the other grampa.  I haven't personally manage to inherit another faction by killing off the leader in favor of one of my grandchildren, but I read somewhere that it's possible, and if it's not, it should be.  But the short answer is, marry off your sons, but keep your daughters, unless they have lousy stats.  My most recent (1.07) game, my firstborn son was actually my fourth child, and since I kept all his sisters, I had to wait for ever for grandkids....

There is a button on the Action bar you can use when you select a champion of the appropriate sex. It looks like a Ring. Click that.

I need some help, my children or my sov age, i dont understand why. i have no mods installed so its the normal game i did install the update. if anyone can help me please do, ive uninstalled elemental around 10 times and cleaned out everything in my laptop but each time i get the same result, they dont age.
