What does the "Softness (Adv Lighting)" option do anyway? I've changed it from 0 to 50 to 100, no difference. I've started a new game after each setting and taken a print screen to compare the character, no difference. I've rebooted the game, no difference. 
I could post the comparison screenies, but there'd be no point since there's no visible difference at all. hmmm
