Hello everyone,
I came across this game by accident just a couple of days ago in a games forum and after reading up on it and watching some beta videos I can say that I am really excited for this game. As a hardcore MoM player back in the days, I am looking forward to getting my hands on Elemental more so than on Civ 5, this has a lot do with its RPG focus and modding capabilities. To be honest, I am quite happy that I didn't know about Elemental earlier, because the waiting game is killing me. Still, I have a few questions I'd like to ask:
1. Is the decision not to offer any faction creation ingame final? So, faction creation only by modding them into the game? Not even the possibility to keep the faction creator ingame to adjust slight advantages and disadvantages plus the option to create a completely new one by XML? I can't see how both options exclude each other and I am quite sure that people not into modding will miss the ingame feature a lot.
2. As far as I can tell, units in the beta didn't have (or underemphasized) specific strenghts and weaknesses, i.e. a fire creature that is immune to fire damage and extremely susceptible to ice damage, a non-corporal ghost that is able to move through walls and immune to regular weapon damage etc. I sincerely hope that I either missed it when I was watching the beta videos or that unit specific strenghts and weaknesses will be implemented in the final version, because that is an important element for me concerning combat. I hate games that don't offer a variety of viable abilities and treat any form of damage as basically coming from the same source.
3. How can I distract myself the next two weeks?!? I played MoM and FFH 2, but it's not really helping. I've never been this excited for a game in a very long time...
