While Bullet storm looks fun, I do worry about Deus Ex. I really enjoyed the first one, but the second left me disappointed. While both games had their share of glitches and issues, I found myself so immersed in the first game that I rarely noticed. The second game, by comparison felt a lot more like a generic shooter to me.

As far as I know both have been Confirmed for a PC release as well. If Epic is pulling out of PC then this might be their "last" PC game. If so then I'd say the PC version was done or mostly done before they decided not to make games for the PC anymore. They wouldn't scrap something that's almost done knowing if they release it they'll at least make some money.

I actually liked the second one a little better then the first. I think the cross styling they are doing with the new one looks pretty cool, that's just me though. They are going for a "Victorian meets Cyberpunk" feel. So far (at least in CG vids) it looks like they are pulling it off nicely. Whether or not the game will actually be any good has a long way to go before it will be seen.

Did you get into all the enhancements and stuff you could use in the first one? That was one of those rare games back in the day that I played through 3 separate times to beat it each way I could.

They didn't make Invisible War for the consoles did they? When it came out for PC it had some pretty steep running requirements and had top of the line graphics for it's day. I was pretty impressed. Especially with the physics system that came into play. Glass and Wood acted like Glass and Wood, Metal like Metal, I.E. you could shoot through a wooden box or wall but not through steel or concrete. It was a great technological achievement in gaming when it hit. At least I thought so anyway.

Of course we're also talking about a title that's getting on in years now (as far as software goes). Compare it to the CryEngine 2 or 3 and Invisible War looks laughable. If the made it for the consoles I wouldn't want to play it and I'm glad I bought the PC version. If it was ported it had to be one of those rare games that the PC version was Superior to the console version (more memory, better graphics, better frame-rates etc etc). It used to be, back in the early days of multi-platforming titles, that if there was a PC version And a console version the PC version was almost always Superior (they were after-all made For consoles but being made On/By a PC). Now days that's exactly opposite. Consoles get priority and If a PC version is made it's often "Dumbed Down". The only recent title I can think of that was made Better on the PC then on consoles was Dragon Age.

Very true. Something to think about. I haven't heard or seen anything on actual game-play yet, just concept stuff and ideas they're supposed to be incorporating.

Bulletstorm is by Epic Games and People Can Fly, the studio that did Painkiller. I guess if I wanted a game of this type I would go with Painkiller Black Edition which you can get on Impulse for $9.99. Same basic idea. Don't really like the music behind either one, though. Playing with your kills to me is a lot like playing with your food. Naughty.

Agree the trailers for both the new Deus Ex and Bulletstorm look epic.

There is in fact a project that allows you to run Deus Ex 1 in DX10 mode with higher res' available.

It looks better. Still not great mind, it's still original low poly models and low-ish textures, but it is better with a higher screen res.
