It is a typical assumption of people coming from a Christian background that religions are usually about proclaiming themselves the one true faith, whereas that is really only true for Christianity (and Islam to a lesser degree).
So, no, all religions do not proclaim that their faith is the one true faith.
And no, it is not unfair to attack Islam (or Christianity) over this particularly unpleasant attribute which Islam (and Christianity) has and other religions do not.
Thank you for taking the time to reply, and to do so intelligently. I find it interesting that you've listed several religions that make mention to other faiths; Judism, for example. Both Christianity and Judism teach that the Jews are considered, for lack of a better term, clean, while Christians are unclean - they're still acceptable, however they're not the cream of the crop, so to speak. Islam teaches that anyone who breaks the rules of their religion - such as committing murder, or drinking alcohol - is considered unclean, however they too are still welcome in Heaven should they repent. A path to God, however twisted, is still a path in the right direction. However, each of those religions teach that their ways are still the best ways - the true ways - despite there being other ways that are also acceptable. Perhaps I should have chosen my words more carefully.
...As for the other major discussion, Christianity is definetely not a poster child of good religion. Christians have commited many, many horrible acts, ranging from the Inquisition to stealing the land of American Indians and kidnapping their children to be sent to "Chrisitian Schools", where they were horribly treated. All this in the name of God. Some people also include the Holocaust, but Hitler really wasn't a Christian by the time he was in power. He actually called a "religion of weakness".
Let's sum it up in three words. Organized religion sucks.
Let's refine that: People suck. Organised religion has absolutely no issues of any kind... in theory. Once you apply the blind ambition of men and women, zealots as they're called, things get messy. Blaming things on religion rather the morons who twist it to meet their own ends causes more problems than is needed.
