Since the media doesn’t seem to cover this sort of thing I guess it’s up to GoG’s “competitors” to do it for them: GoG has upgraded their network infrastructure resulting in crazy fast downloads. We got 22MB/sec (yes, we buy games from them too, we’re gamers after all) download speeds from them.
It’s one of the little things in digital distribution that no one covers. The download speed differences between them can be pretty significant which can make the difference between a new game taking an hour to download versus 8 hours to download. It’s one of the reasons why people online (anecdotal) regularly say that they’ll buy things off of Impulse if they have the choice because of its fast download speeds. GoG has really great download speeds too.
I don’t work for GoG nor have any official relationship to them. I just like what they’re doing.
