I need to add Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening expansion pack.

I cannot wait for Stardock to start producing RPGs a la Bioware.

Both Shogun and Medieval actually have very decent combat AI, and the campaign/strategic AI in Shogun isn't bad either.  Not great, but not horrible.  The campaign AI in Medieval is mediocre, although still probably better than in either Rome or Medieval 2. 

The AI in Empire is downright schizophrenic, on both the tactical & strategic levels.  One moment it will be brilliant, and the next moment it will do something unbelievably stupid.

It's a 4x space strategy game being developed by Code Force, a New Zealand company.  What's unusual about Distant Worlds is that it's in real-time, not unlike the Imperium Galactica games.

There's not a whole lot of info yet, as it's not been officially announced.  However, what we've seen so far looks very promising. 

Also, it's an open secret that the game is going to be published by Matrix Games (the same folks who are publishing Armada 2526), which I find to be a point in its favor as well.  An official announcement is supposed to be made later this month, at which point more details on the game itself are to be released as well. 

The thread is about games anticipated to come out in 2010, not games that won't be released til I'm at least in my mid-thirties....

Boy are you out of touch with your Homeworld fanbase! That’s not complex. It’s holding a damn button. People know how to hold one button while clicking another button, and if they don’t, they don’t deserve to be playing PC games in the first place and the rest of us don’t want to have to deal with such incompetent players online in the first place.

If you release a half-assed Homeworld sequel I will never buy another Relic game. Ever. Don’t screw up one of the greatest RTS IPs out there by catering to idiots and console-ized interfaces. That’s a death knell.

The problem with Sins of a Solar Empire, that disappointed so many gamers, is that it’s not the true 3D space combat RTS that Homeworld games were, and that disappointed everyone who’s been waiting for a righteous update to the Homeworld series.

@lbgsloan- the community in general, or the online community. If you mean online, well no duh. Something like 90% of Sins players never even pop in online.

As for my anticipated games- Dark Void, SoaSE:Diplo, SoaSE:Trinity, Star Ruler (check it out here: http://moddb.com/games/star-ruler), Angels Fall First:Planetstorm's UDK release, AFF:2nd Antarean War (if it releases in 2010 and has an F2P option/free SP-only version (it is an MMORTS)); that's all I can think of ATM.

Hey come on now "We all can be hopefull for Homeworld 3!" Anywho Relics got 4-5 Projects right now (Company of Heros, Warhammers, and they aint saying anymore. Hate when companies beat around the bush with what in store for the future. ) But I know they are holding out on the goods...

If you have never played an MMO before, then maybe you are unaware that next week, Tuesday I believe, STO is having an Open Beta. Open Beta's aren't the end all, but I almost always play the Open Beta of an MMO before I buy a game. You mentioned upgrading your card, so if you aren't able to do the Open Beta, I am sure I'll have an opinion on it one way or another, and 99% sure my sister will by it regardless (unless they really, really mess it up).

I'll also be suckered into buying CNC 4, which I will enjoy for about a week and never play again.

If Elemental comes out in 2010 that will be my only hot for title to come out.  I will be preordering a game for the first time in my life(typically no reason to preorder something that can become vaporware at the flip of a switch-or market minded CEO's or CFO's most games ship with bugs that require patching anyways).  In my mind, only Elemental and Stardock deserve some influx of early cash in order that they take their time in creating the greatest(hopefully)fantasy strategy game ever.  Of course I am in the group that loved Master of Magic beyond any of the other's(sorry Sid, I love your games too but if I had to choose..Civ loses out).

Now for the other games and why I might play them, just not when first released-

Starcraft 2 Yea I loved and played Warcraft, Diablo and Starcraft.  I think Warcraft was first rts I played and found the game great fun.  Of course now I've played various rts's from then on and currently play Co. of Heroes.  So even though I loved the Blizzard games in general and still a fan of that company for the dedication to their franchises(much like Stardock).  I do believe Starcraft 2 without multiplayer makes no sense in terms of longevity or sales.  I might still play it but it won't be for at least a year after release and by then I might be to busy with a different shiny bauble..

Battlefield 2 Bad Co.  I like fps's and the Battlefield franchise has been fun.  I have enjoyed these fps's Doom, Quake(mods like Action Quake), Unreal Tournament(favorite mod was Tac-Ops), Shadow Warriors("who wantta some wang?"and sending remote controlled Nukes at your buddies was blast), Outlaws("here chicky, chicky").  I also own and have played Call of Duty(WAW), Crysis and untold others that I just didn't find as aweinspiring or as fun as my first group.  You can be sure if DRM is an issue with BF2BC that it wont make it to my desktop in that config.
