Well maybe it just isnt your type of game. What do you like to play?
Well, I started with Starcraft, which I played a fair bit but was never very good at. Then I became a beta tester for a little-known indie RTS game called Strifeshadow, and eventually managed to become reasonably good at it despite starting out as officially the second-worst player in the community. The game never caught on and LAN play never worked properly, but it's still my all-time favorite RTS game. Last I heard, they were willing to open-source it if someone was willing to go in and rip out all the proprietary networking code for them.
After that I got hooked on Tribes 2 (complex team-based strategic FPS), then Mechwarrior 4:Mercenaries (mech combat sim), then Jumpgate for a few years (MMO space combat sim). After that I moved to Civilization 4 and Guild Wars, gave up Civ4 for GalCiv2, tried Team Fortress 2 for a few months (it made me miss Tribes 2), and now I'm having lots of fun with multiplayer SupCom over LAN. Oh, and every once in a while I become completely obsessed with Dwarf Fortress.
Everything I've heard about Sins makes it sound like I should absolutely love the game. 4X strategy? Great. Epic space battles? Awesome. Huge Russian-flavored space fleets? I don't even have a word for that one.
But when I try to play it...
I should probably just log on to multiplayer and ask if anyone would be willing to walk me through a match or two. Pestering the devs to add a "make unit tree icons not all look the same" option wouldn't hurt, either.
