Many of the review websites I have gone to say that it is a good expansion and well priced at $10, but probably just as many say tthat it isn't worth it and doesn't bring enough to the table. I am also a little uncomfortable with the fact that it can only be downloaded. And once aquired, is it a seperate game that you open up, or just permanent updates to the original?
Is it worthwhile? Personally, I think that depends on whether you play the game in single player or online multiplayer and what you want out of the game.
With a name like "Noobkiller" we can only assume that you play the game online against human opponents and that you're pretty good at it. A "Noobkiller" who only plays againt AI is a contradiction in terms since someone who plays it against AI only is by definition a noob. (Just telling it like it is, I don't mean any offense to anyone.)
If that assumption is correct and you play it in online multiplayer, then my answer is "Yes--get Entrenchment". Most of the online multiplayer action is for Entrenchment and it's where you'll find the 4v4 and 5v5 games. The overwhelming consensus amongst online players is that Entrenchment is better than regular Sins.
Now, if you play in single player against AI then it becomes more complicated. First off, you could download free custom mods and other content to expand the game instead of getting Entrenchment. However, according to some people, many newer mods are for Entrenchment only. Secondly, the AI doesn't do a very good job of dealing with the Starbases and other additional things in Entrenchment so Entrenchment might make the game less challenging for that reason--the AI won't be as tough in Entrenchment since it might suicide itself on starbases or it could spam out its own starbases and fail to manage and protect them properly, wasting credits that could have gone towards having a larger fleet. The starbases and other changes in Entrenchment are a good idea and really add additional strategic considerations to the game, but at the same time it ends up weakening the AI. If you don't really care about that and think adding additional strategic considerations to the game would be worthwhile then consider getting Entrenchment.
